Divine Assist Youth Center exists to empower, educate, and inspire young people through mentorship, academic support, recreation, life skills development, and community engagement. We are committed to building strong character, healthy lifestyles, and leadership capacity while creating safe spaces where youth can thrive.

Divine Assist Youth Center is a compassionate, community-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through mentorship, recreation, education, leadership, and positive life experiences. We serve young people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities with genuine love, creating a safe and supportive environment where every child feels valued and respected.
Although we gladly serve and support youth of every color, part of our programming intentionally uplifts and centers African American youth by incorporating Black history, cultural awareness, and identity-building. We help young people develop a strong sense of belonging, confidence, and pride—no matter the challenges they may face at home or school.
At Divine Assist Youth Center, we believe every child deserves opportunity, support, and someone who truly cares.
With the support of community leaders, sponsors, donors, and volunteers, we are working to build a state-of-the-art Youth Recreation Center in the Town of Ashland—affectionately known by its residents as “The Center of the Universe.”
We proudly presented our vision to the Ashland Town Council, who responded with encouragement and expressed their full support of our mission to enhance the quality of life for families and youth in Ashland and Hanover County.
Life’s journey can be challenging, especially when traveled alone. Divine Assist walks alongside youth and families, offering “Strength for the Journey” and support “When You Can’t Do It Alone.”
We are excited about this new chapter! Divine Assist has partnered with Shiloh Baptist Church as a host facility for the youth center. Here, we are equipped to continue the work of serving the community while exploring opportunities for growth and expansion.
